Every single interpreting Code of Ethics holds “accuracy” as its shining star. We are to interpret accurately, conveying meaning and tone, jokes and sarcasm, compliments and insults. This, of course, is easier said than done. Just exactly how can we interpret accurately?  Our task becomes especially hard when we are thrown into a case blind, without any prior information about the matters at hand. Preparation can play a key role in facilitating accuracy, but just exactly how can we prepare for a case?

In this workshop we will discuss the importance of accuracy and why it is so vital to upholding the ethical standards of our profession. We will then apply this standard practically in a simulated courtroom setting with hands-on exercises. We will implement tools and strategies for preparing a case, even when you have nothing to go on but the docket number or a document with two minutes to review.

You’ll leave better-equipped to uphold our professional ethical standards, armed with tools to determine case type, structure and vocabulary, in order to render a more accurate interpretation.

Applications for continuing education are pending in multiple states. Please note that all sales are final.
