Ethics: What would you do if…?
Sun Sep 26
Sun, Sep 26, 2021 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM EDT
Come exercise your ethical dilemma solving skills! What would you do if a judge or a doctor asked you not to interpret something? What if you knew the patient was lying? What if your actions could seriously impact somebody else’s future? In this workshop, we will compile your real-life ethical dilemmas. We will compare and contrast the medical and court interpreting codes of ethics, and explore strategies for ethically fulfilling your obligations in various settings. As a large group and in breakouts, you will decide what you would do in a variety of situations. You will leave the workshop armed with tools and strategies for real-life ethical decision making. Medical and court interpreters are welcome. See you there!
