For the first time ever, join us live for our Master Class performance evening! For this inaugural performance night, the students of our current Court Interpreting Master Class: Advanced Spanish will be offering you “Sight Translations with a Twist.”
In order to master sight translation technique, our students will polish their language skills, reading comprehension and speaking abilities. Leading up to performance night, they’ll navigate register, word choice and syntax reformulation. They’ll work hard. All that, and they’ll need to keep a poker face and not allow their nerves to get the better of them.
That’s where you come in! Come be a supportive (but intimidating) audience to help our students master their nerves in preparation for achieving their high-level interpreting dreams, including the FCICE oral exam. We promise to entertain you in return, and you’ll witness some top-notch interpreting along the way!
Please note that this is a free community event. It has not been pre-approved for continuing education, we will not take attendance and no certificates will be issued. The sight translations will be in Spanish-English, but audience members of all language combinations are welcome!
