The witness stand is probably one of the most nerve-wracking places an interpreter can be. But what happens when we are wracked with nerves? Our ability to focus goes right out the window, precisely when we need it most!
In this workshop, we’ll explore strategies for taking great notes under pressure; and, more importantly, understanding what those notes say. Through drills, role play and hands-on exercises, we will integrate attentive listening, key ideas, stress management and contextual clues into our toolkit. We will cover symbols and abbreviations along with format, structure, and making your ideas pop from the page. You will identify your strengths, weaknesses, and strategies for improvement, so that you leave this class ready to become an expert at deciphering what you’ve put down on the page even at the most stressful of times!
Please note that all sales are final. Applications for continuing education are pending in multiple states. A recording of the class will be made available to all registered participants and may later be published to our On Demand page.
